“I have reached a weight that I have not been since the 1980s but more importantly a weight achieved in a healthy way. Truly blessed to have met you and experience this life altering program.”
I have lost a total of 28 lbs (19 on MN), the difference being is I was already feeling hungry doing what I was doing (the crazy diet way) and that was certainly not the case in Mission Nutrition – except the odd very rare day, and then you just need to get smart and make choices that fill you up.
What results have you seen from Mission Nutrition, where are you with your goals?
I have had excellent results. I started the program in September at 153 but in actual fact I was 162 in July. So I have lost a total of 28 lbs (19 on MN), the difference being is I was already feeling hungry doing what I was doing (the crazy diet way) and that was certainly not the case in Mission Nutrition – except the odd very rare day, and then you just need to get smart and make choices that fill you up. I was afraid of failing so I set two goals. I surpassed my short term which lead me to believe that my long term goal was actually attainable. I never once had a huge loss just a steady 1 to 1.5 pounds per week which I was happy with. I reached my goal of 135lbs
What has your past experience with diet/nutrition been?
The usual dismal, self –deprecating, debilitating diet results; the vicious cycle of losing, gaining, losing then gaining even more over the past 40 years.
What have you learned from this program?
I learned how to eat properly and the importance of protein and macro balance. I also learned if you stay focused and committed you will achieve your goal. This program is so easy and I am still in shock over the amount of real food you can eat and continue to lose weight. I learned how to eat smarter to maximize those macros. I also learned that you can learn a great deal from a couple of young ladies if you are willing to listen and absorb what they are teaching. 😉
Is there anything you learned or did anything happen while on MN that was unexpected?
Absolutely, I learned my body was in a near continual starvation mode prior to MN. At the beginning of this program, the increased protein levels made me feel that I was eating horrendous amounts of food. However, the scale continued to dip little by little as my metabolism kicked in and my body responded favorably.
The unexpected, was that I lost nearly 20 pounds so easily. After all the usual disappointing trendy diets, you become a little jaded believing that you need to starve yourself or cut out certain foods to reach your goal and invariably you rarely reach those goals let alone maintain your ideal weight.
What do you specifically like the most?
Finally success, it truly works!! No matter if you need to gain or lose weight, this program allows you to be successful. I also like the organizational aspect of the program which I feel is key to success. If you have the week or even a few days planned/prepped ahead there is no room for an unplanned indulgence.
How important did you feel the accountability with your coach was to your success?
Accountability is the most important aspect of success, it goes both ways. You have to be accountable to your coach so that she can be accountable to you to provide you with the information you need to achieve your goals. I treated the macro numbers like the rules of a game; in my mind, if you are going to play a game then play by the rules. When your coach says, hit those numbers, you just do it.
Did/do you have any struggles?
I think since September there were maybe two evenings when I felt a little hungry and I had no more macros left. So I drank some water and went to bed. There were also the occasional inner struggles – it’d be nice to have a glass of wine but is it worth giving up food for . . . sometimes yes, as long as I hit those numbers but club soda and lime tasted pretty good also. Or, I’d settle for a small bite of something rather than a whole serving, that way I didn’t feel like I denied myself of anything and still managed hit those numbers.
Did you have any hesitations about signing up?
Were you reluctant about anything? Not really, my biggest fear was sending a picture of myself in spandex. Lol! Really, I had nothing to lose . . . but hopefully pounds; it was a very smart move.
Aesthetics and clothes fitting better aside, what other things have you noticed with your success on the program?
I don’t hurt nearly as much. I would consider myself to have chronic back and joint pain – primarily hips and knees. It’s amazing how just 18 pounds can reduce that significantly.
